Architecture Photography

Architecture Photography

Sunday 21 September
John Nolen Drive - 10am - 2 Hours
Chris Bennett
Architectural photography can be a great way of exploring and documenting a city, whether it's your home or on holiday. Its about capturing not only the design and accurate representation of a building, but to have the shots be aesthetically pleasing to the viewer's eye. An architectural photographer makes pictures, not takes pictures.

In this session, we will be covering how to better understand Architecture photography and we'll be looking at ways to take some impressive shots and the camera settings to use.

Feedback is the really important part for someone to improve and that part is missing. I know that is very difficult in a group. Is there a way to submit the pictures to you and have you give that ? Also didn?t get to see what others did.

Joel is very knowledgeable. The group was small size so I felt individual attention and all my questions could be answered. I will continue to take further classes in the future after this great first experience.

Enjoyed the session. Small group and personal attention was great. I liked that we moved around from Monona Terrace to downtown around the capital and State Street. Joel and son were great. Joel reached out to confirm prior to the meeting which also was nice.

Title: Ripple Beneath the SurfaceBy Joe GaleyI chose this title for a few reasons. First, ?Ripple? comes from the Grateful Dead song?if you get the chance, look up the lyrics and listen to the song while looking at this picture. It might hit you the same way it did me.?Beneath the Surface? came from a thought I couldn?t shake: beauty is deeper than what most people see. It?s in the eye of the beholder? or maybe it's a choice.I?ve always loved taking pictures with my phone

This was my second class with Madison Photography Group and Joel Ramsey. After discussing transitioning to mirrorless during the first class, ( was really just looking for an excuse) I went ahead and bought my Nikon Zfc. This was my first day shooting with it and exploring the camera as well as the city. I am always intrigued by the capitol building. I will always appreciate a picture of it.

Danae had been bucked off her horse, Hawk, moments before this photo was taken. He was cranky from getting a bath earlier in the day, but calmed down when we brought him to a pasture where his best friend Magic was penned very close by. I used a 35 mm lens on my Nikon D750 at f16 to get the sun ray spikes.

I've made multiple attempts at this picture trying to make something suitable for a wall art panoramic. My first few chances it did not have enough pixels. So when I was lucky enough to go for work I walked the 3 miles to try it again. I was fortunate to have the sun break through and create two different rainbows and a fantastic scene for all. I sat there for 2 hours hours capturing the same image in different phases of the evening and this is my favorite as it highlights the red, white and
