Come along to our photo sessions to dust off your camera and get snap-happy with a professional photography instructor.

Brush up on your camera skills and learn new photography techniques whilst on a photo walk class with other local keen photographers!

We run two hour photography sessions based on a photography theme/technique/style and they take place in various locations in Madison .

  • New to photography? We also run a popular 3 hour Beginners Guide to Photography Class once a month. And once in a while we will run special niche 3 hour classes, for example, Astrophotography - so do subscribe to our newsletter to know when the next on is!

  • Who can attend? Open to all skill levels, from beginners to keen amateurs. The photography instructor is there to help you with camera settings and provide any advice you need.

  • What to bring? We recommend bringing a camera that has full manual mode or semi-manual modes (Aperture or Shutter Priority). Compact cameras and smartphones also welcome!

    The meeting point and full details for the day are sent in the booking confirmation email to the email address you provide at time of booking.

  • INSTRUCTORS
    Joel Ramsey
    Joel Ramsey is a Ph.D. candidate and a university professor with experience writing and presenting topics in public presentation, business, and multicultural communication, and social media and marketing. His studies include; various forms of communication, rhetoric, public address, proposals in social media and marketing, quantitative and qualitative research analysis, media convergence, and copyright law.
    Joel has several years of experience as a freelance photographer shooting street and automotive photography using a cannon 7d and eon-1 mark-v1 with a 150-500mm lens, a 200mm lens, and a 28-105mm lens and recently working with a Sony A7R-II and a 28-70mm lens. He has experience editing with adobe workshops (Photoshop and Lightroom).
    Kate Wydeven
    Kate Wydeven is a dynamic multimedia artist whose work spans across a variety of mediums including video, photography, sculpture, and installation art. They create visually dynamic and organic art centering life and living as a human being, citing human interaction and connection, philosophy, sentimentality, and nature as their main focuses in their work.

    Over the years, Kate has worked in multiple fields, projects, and utilized several new techniques in her own work, ranging from studio portraiture, to her staple style of self portraiture as metaphor/metaphor as a self portrait through mediums such as clay sculpture, soft form sculpture, and creating with nature.
    Photography is their longest art form, beginning their journey 10 years ago as a a portrait photographer. Working both in freelance roles and as a director, they have used their emotional expression with themselves and others to create genuine and informative portraits of their subjects, seeing them with the fullness we as people deserve.

    Kate shoots with a Nikon D5500. She is well-versed with Nikon camera technology, adequate with studio lighting, and excels at nature and outdoor portraits. She specializes in natural lighting, color correction, is professional at editing, and has several years experience with using Adobe Creative Cloud/Suite.
